A CRPF jawan has died due to Corona virus. The battalion has since been sealed.

Ikram Hussain, a sub-inspector posted in the 31st Battalion of the CRPF, died of the corona virus on Tuesday. So far, 46 CRPF members have been infected with the corona virus. While the results of 257 tests are yet to come. About 1100 members of the battalion have been quarantined. And the entire battalion has been sealed.

According to sources, the Home Ministry has expressed displeasure over the increase in the number of positive cases of corona in the CRPF. The Home Ministry has sought a report from the CRPF DG on the matter and asked where the mistake was made in preventing the transmission of the corona virus.

The advisory for the 5-day quarantine was announced in the CRPF in early April, when the Home Ministry fixed its duration at 14 days. However, the CRPF later changed the quarantine to 14 days. The matter has been asked to submit a report by April 30.

An order has also been issued by the CRPF directing paramedical staff on leave to report to a nearby CRPF hospital. In the meantime, it was suggested that no lockdown be violated. Members who joined in the meantime were ordered to stay in quarantine for 5 days.

Ikram Hussain, who died as a result of Koro's transition to the CRPF, was stationed in Kupwara. But he came to his home in Noida on holiday and after receiving the order, he reported to the hospital in Mayur Vihar. Ikram did not show any corona symptoms during quarantine.

Ikram Hussain came in contact with Corona virus victims between April 16 and 18, but on April 24 he received information about it. Since then, cases of corona virus in the CRPF have been found to be positive. A covid management unit has been set up in the CRPF itself as the transition of cores continues.
