Lockdown in Punjab after Odisha rises to 30 April

New Delhi, 10 April 2020 Friday

Lockdown and curfew in Punjab have also been extended to April 30 to prevent the spread of global pandemic corona virus.

Additional Chief Secretary of the State, K.B.S. Sindhu gave this information on Friday, as well as Punjab becoming the second state in the country after Odisha.

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had already hinted at increasing lockdown in the state and said that the government was seriously considering increasing it as this was not the right time to increase the lockdown.

He said that the Rs 15,000 crore package set by the Center against the Corona virus is not enough for the states and the Modi government should give enough financial assistance to the states.

Farmers relieve in lockdown

Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said that from April 15, farmers would be given concession in lockdown for crop harvest and that social distance would be taken care of.
