Corona virus causes women's shorts, Uhapoh after Maulana's remarks on crops

Following the controversial statement made by Tariq Jameel, the president of the influential Tablighi Jamaat in Pakistan, there is an uproar in Pakistan.

Maulana made two controversial statements on the date during a telethon discussion held by PM Imran Khan. In his 16-minute address, Maulana called the media house and journalists corrupt.

He further said that women wear shorts and that is why nature has ravaged the corona virus. It is the turn of the whole com- munity to suffer the punishment of the bad deeds of women.

Although Maulana has apologized for his statement calling journalists corrupt, he has not apologized for his statement on women. As a result, it is being discussed in Pakistan as well.

Sherry Rehman, a woman leader of the Pakistan People's Party, condemned the remark, saying, "Why has she not apologized to the women of the country yet? She has hurt the feelings of 50 per cent of the country's population, i.e. women." This kind of comment on women cannot be tolerated.
