Womens T20 World Cup: Indian women team in final without playing a single ball

New Delhi, Mar 5, 2020, Thursday

The first semifinal of the Women's T20 World Cup has been washed away in Sydney, Australia. As a result, the Indian women's team has made it to the finals without hitting a single ball.

In Group A, the Indian team won all their matches and it was a benefit today. The first semi-final was to be played in Sydney between England and India today. But the rain had washed away the match.

The World Cup semifinals did not hold a reserve day, so due to the cancellation of the semifinals as a rule, the team which remained in their group had to be automatically enrolled in the final.

England finished in second place in Group B. Thus India has now reached the final. The Indian women's team will now clash with the winner of the second semifinal in the final match in Melbourne on Sunday.

The second semifinal will be played between Australia and South Africa.
