'War crime' to be investigated against US-Taliban: permission of international crime court

Washington, Ta. March 8, 2020, Sunday

The International Criminal Court has ordered an investigation into war crimes against the United States and the Taliban. The order came in the wake of a series of face-to-face attacks in Afghanistan over several years. The US, however, defied the decision by citing the latest peace talks.

The International Crime Court rejected the application a year ago saying it would not be in the jurisdiction of the International Court, but it would now investigate the war crimes against the Taliban, US and Afghan forces.

According to the International Crime Court, since Afghanistan has become a battlefield, many people have fallen victim to it and it is necessary to investigate whether the US-Afghanistan and Taliban forces are responsible. The International Criminal Court described it as a criminal offense against humanity.

For the first time in history, the International Criminal Court ordered a probe into the war against the American military. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the recent incident seems to be inappropriate. Because now America has had significant success in peace talks with the Taliban.

The United States is already denying the International Crime Court's intervention on the Afghanistan issue. Mike Pompeo condemned the organization as a political institution in the name of justice. The International Criminal Court argued that any war crimes must be prosecuted.
