Violence in Meghalaya, 3 killed in opposition to CAA

Meghalaya is now burning in opposition to the CAA. A group of strangers attacked Shillong with a knife at a group of strangers who were not natives of the state. One was killed and nine were injured.

In cities other than Shillong, there was a clash between the Khasi Chhatra Sangh and the non-tribals in opposition to the CAA. A local taxi driver was also killed in the East Khasi Hills adjacent to the Bangladesh border.

The government imposed curfew in Shillong and surrounding markets till this morning. Two paramilitary companies are already deployed and another 6 companies have been called.

The number of people injured in clashes in different places has risen to 16.
