New delhi date. March 9, 2020, Monday

Vinay Sharma, convicted in the Nirbhaya gangrepe and Murder case, has made another attempt to avoid hanging. Vinay Sharma's lawyer AP Singh, 11 days before the death sentence, has applied for Delhi's Deputy Governor Anil Baijal and sought to convert Vinay's death sentence to life imprisonment.

AP Singh has filed a petition under Sections 432 and 433 and demanded that the death sentence be converted to life imprisonment. Earlier, the convict Mukesh Singh filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Friday and appealed for restoration of his legal options. The convict alleged that his lawyer misled him.

In a petition filed by lawyer Manoharlal Sharma, Mukesh Singh alleged that Vrinda Grover, a lawyer who played the role of the central, government and justice, had committed a criminal conspiracy and that the CBI should be investigated.

A Delhi court has fixed a deadline of March 20 for the hanging of four of Nirbhaya's convicts three times. All four accused will be hanged together at Tihar Jail in Delhi. Delhi Government's Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana said the guilty have used all their legal options. The court has then fixed a new date for execution on March 20.
