On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on people from all over the country to voluntarily donate to the PM Care Fund to fight the coronavirus epidemic.
Since PM Modi's call, people across the country have been donating to the fund based on their ability. Now Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has also announced a month's salary in the fund. Piyush Goyal has shared this information with his official Twitter handle.
According to information given by Piyush Goyal, in addition to the Railway Minister, the Minister of State for Railways and employees of 13 lakh railway employees and public sector units will also donate one day salary to the PM Care Fund. A total of Rs 151 crore will be deposited in the PM Care Fund.
In his tweet, he wrote, "On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, my fellow railway state minister, Suresh Angadji, a month and 13 lakhs of railway and PSU colleagues will pay Rs. 151 crores.
At the call of PM @NarendraModi ji, my fellow Railway Minister Suresh Angadi ji will contribute a sum of ₹ 151 crore in PM CARES for one month, and 13 lakhs of Railways, and PSU's partner one day salary.
