Online fraud increased in the wake of the Corona virus

Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) has called on people all over the world to beware of cyber criminals and online fraudsters taking advantage of the corona virus.

Interpol states that private information should be kept as confidential as possible when purchasing medical materials such as surgical masks and sanitizers, as cyber criminals are taking advantage of this situation and financially committing fraud.

So far 30 cases of such fraud have been brought against the organization. The chain of events is linked to Asia and Europe. According to one information, cyber criminals have so far lost millions of dollars to people.

The global epidemic of corona viruses has resulted in the huge demand for surgical masks and sanitizers in the market. This situation has led to several websites and social media accounts claiming to sell this medical supply online.

People are placing orders online on such websites and accounts as a result, they do not receive medical content and have lost money.

In this regard, Interpol Director-General Jurgen Scott said that the Cerberus criminals were targeting the general public by taking advantage of the conditions and uncertainty created by the Corona virus. Anyone who plans to purchase medical supplies online will verify the credibility of the website or social media account and then order. Otherwise, they may fall into the trap of these criminals and lose money. According to the information, thousands of dollars of fraud have been involved in such cases.
