Omar Abdullah is finally released from a seven-month detention

Srinagar, Ta. 24 March 2020, Tuesday

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been released from jail.

He is released after seven months. Like many other leaders he was imprisoned after the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir. However, he was released today. Omar Abdullah left home without meeting anyone. The look of age has changed in these seven months. Omar, who previously had a clean shave, had a long beard on his face when he came out today.

Earlier, the government had also freed his father Farooq Abdullah from prison.

Omar Abdullah was introduced in the month of February in the Public Security Act. Following which, Umar's sister, Sara Abdullah, also filed a petition in the Supreme Court.
