Of the 42,000 crore NPA loan, Rs 20,000 crore was loaned by Rana Kapoor

The bank, which is financially out of place, has a stake of Rs 2.25 lakh crore.

Of the Rs 2.5 lakh crore loan, Rs 42,000 crore is believed to have been defaulted on NPAs. ED is questioning Yas Bank founder Rana Kapoor in this regard.

ED has learned that out of this Rs 42,000 crore loan, Rs 20,000 crore loan has been given under the direct instruction of Rana Kapoor.

ED has sought loan documents from Cox & Kings Group, DHFL Group, Radius Group and several other companies. Officials suspect the loan was put aside by an RBI guideline. This has hurt the bank and the people who put money in the bank.

Some of the shell companies made by Kapoor are also being investigated by ED. According to the authorities, the amount deposited against Rana Kapoor and his wife's account against the loan is also being checked. For example, the bank bought 3700 crore debentures from DFFL and against it, the company gave a loan of Rs 600 crore to Rana Kapoor's daughter. This transaction is suspicious. Kapoor's daughters have no such business.

What is more shocking is that the property on which the loan is made is actually worth Rs 40 crores. This property is also land. This land is cultivated and the loan is shown as residential land for the loan.

Edinu said that Kapoor was arrested on charges of money laundering as he was not cooperating with the inquiry.
