Mumbai police arrest four accused with Rs 14 crore mask: 26 lakh masks seized

People are using masks and sanitizers to protect themselves from the corona virus. There have been several incidents of over-selling masks and sanitizers in the market. Meanwhile, the Mumbai police was disturbed by the seizure of 26 lakh masks in the truck.

The cost of this mask is said to be around Rs 14 crore in the market. State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was also present on the incident. Commissioner Parambir Singh was also present on the team. Police have registered further investigation into the case. Police have arrested four accused and their fugitive accomplice is being searched.

Crime Branch Unit-9 officials have reportedly taken action in Andheri and Bhiwandi based on information. Police seized 26 lakh masks loaded in three trucks. Following the incident, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh went to the crime branch office.

Police have arrested the accused Shah Rukh (U23), Ghulam Murtaza (U20), Mihir (UW36), Balaji (UW36). His two accomplices are absconding. The court has ordered the four accused to be in police custody.

Earlier, the gang had sold the mask to the market worth millions of rupees. The mastermind of the crime is under investigation and where they brought the mask. At present, several cases of sale of fake and adulterated sanitizers have come to light.
