New delhi date. March 16, 2020, Monday

Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon told the state Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Monday that he should conduct a floor test in the Legislative Assembly on March 17, and if he does not do so, it will be assumed that you do not have the majority to form a government. Earlier, after the adjournment of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly till March 26, 106 BJP MLAs, led by Shivraj Singh Chauhan, reached Rajbhavan and made their presence against Governor Lalji Tandon. At the same time, the BJP leaders demanded a floor test for the governor, claiming the BJP's majority.

Governor Lalji Tandon wrote a letter to Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Saturday, saying that his government is in short supply so he will get a confidence vote in the assembly immediately after the Governor's address on Monday. The Governor directed that the trust vote process would be through vote-splitting and video recording would be done in the Legislature through independent persons of this process, which should be completed on March 16 under any circumstances.

However, after the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly on Monday, the assembly was adjourned until March 26 without a power test in the House. After the chairman accepted the resignation letter of six legislators, the number of members of Congress in the 222-member assembly has dropped to 108. It also includes 16 rebel MLAs who have resigned but have not yet been accepted.
