If no immediate action is taken, there will be a 'Cancer Tsunami' in India

Two American doctors of renowned Indian origin have warned India about the successful treatment of cancer patients and important research on this deadly disease. Doctor Dattatreyaudu Nori and Doctor Rekha Bhandari have warned India that a "cancer tsunami" will be coming to the country soon if no immediate and adequate measures are taken.

A renowned cancer specialist, Doctor Dattatreya Yudhuri, has treated many leading Indian leaders suffering from this deadly disease. These leaders include former President Neelam Sanjeev Reddy.

Doctor Rekha Bhandari is famous for research in the field of pain relieving medicines. Both have stated that India can be saved from the 'Cancer Tsunami' only through efforts to identify early health and early stages of the disease.

In India, about 1,300 people die every day from cancer. Both doctors of Indian origin have warned that cancer can be catastrophic in India if immediate and appropriate measures are taken.

There are 1,300 deaths from cancer every day in India, Nori said. An estimated 12 lakh new cancer cases are coming up every year in India. This indicates a lower rate of early detection and worse treatment.

New York-based Indian-American doctor Nori said cancer can cause serious problems for Indians at the social and economic levels. The disease puts the victim's family in poverty and increases social inequality. The International Agency for Research on Cancer predicts that by 2030, India will face approximately 1.7 million new cases of cancer every year.

Padma Shri, awarded the Padma Shri, is very impressed by Prime Minister Modi's decision to create the Ayushman Bharat Project and the National Cancer Registry Program. He called it an important step in this direction. Both Nori and Bhandari say cancer risk can only be overcome with the rapid spread of early diagnosis and health education.
