How safe is the railway for women? 165 reps in railway premises and running trains in 2 years

Leave the Sumasan places, but the number of rap incidents in the railways is embarrassing. In just two years, 165 cases of rap have been reported on the train and railway campuses. Under the RTI, the statistics of train and railway campuses are staggering. In just three years, 4,718 cases have been brought against the robbery and 542 have been killed.

According to an RTI response made by an RTI activist, 136 incidents of rap were carried out at the railway premises between 2017-2019 when the crime occurred with 29 women on a moving train. Compared to the 51 cases in 2017, there were a few 44 cases in 2019, while in 2018, 70 such incidents occurred on the railway campus.

Of the 44 cases against the previous year, 36 took place at the railway premises while the crime took place with 8 women inside the train. Of the 70 cases reported in 2018, 59 took place on the railway campus and 11 on the train. In 2017, the crime took place with 51 women, 41 on the railway campus and 10 on the train started with the women. During this period, 1672 cases of crime against women were registered except in rap in which 802 railway campuses took place while 870 cases against women were started against the train.
