Companies can't afford poor service on free voice calls: TRAI Chairman

Pune, Ta. March 1, 2020, Sunday

Exciting that telecom companies cannot afford their poor quality of service, excluding free voice calls from customers, Charman RS of Tri (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) today said Given by Sharma.

Most telecom companies are providing voice service for free, so they defend that if they offer something for free and their quality is poor, they cannot be fined for that matter.

While addressing the Asia Economic Dialogue hosted by the Ministry of External Affairs at the Pune International Center in Pune, the head of TRAI RS. Sharma said telecom companies could not cover their poor service with the excuse of free voice service.

Whenever Tri-Telecom penalizes a company for poor voice service or takes any action, they give reasons that they offer voice service for free and they do not receive any revenue in return for this service.

However, the reason is not appropriate, as they charge the data service, as well as the voice service. TRAI officials test the network in crowded places including roads, trains and are penalized if a telecom company's network is poor.

India has one of the lowest rates of telecom service in the world, probably for the same reason that telecom companies here are going through a difficult situation. Following the entry of Reliance Jio in 2016, voice services are starting to meet with data services for free. Because of this, the source of voice service revenue for telecom companies in the past has become a relative dead end.

He said referring to the colddrop problem and said that the problem is expected to ease over time. In addition, he urged people that telecommunication towers erected in their area do not have any detrimental impact on health.

So cooperate given space for the tower around their area or home. The tri-state is currently working to provide connectivity to high-rise buildings and inland areas, he said.

Regarding the ecosystem of Five-G technology in India, he said that the investment needed to build an infrastructure for Five-G would require huge investment. In addition to this, expanding the network of optical fiber cables is also a big task. Which has to rely on both wireless data transfer and wired data transfer.
