1.05 lakh crore revenue from GST in February: Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said today that the government has earned Rs 1.05 lakh crore from GST (Goods and Services Tax) in February. Income from GST in February 2019 is about eight per cent higher.

He said these figures while addressing civil accounts officers during the 44th Civil Accounts Day celebrations and said that the government has saved one lakh crore by adopting DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) and new technology. The 44th Civil Accounts Day was celebrated in New Delhi today.

While addressing the Civil Accounts Officers, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government had earned Rs 1.05 lakh crore from GST (Goods and Services Tax) in the month of February, though this was higher than the revenue from GST in January-2020. Revenue is low, since GST in January The revenue generated by the company was Rs 1.10 lakh crore.
