Thousands of injured, many injured in CAA protesters and supporters in Delhi


Police use lathicharge, tear gas to disperse the crowd, curfew imposed in the area

Demonstrations are currently underway in support and opposition of the CAA. However, there was friction between the opposition and supporters in Delhi in the wake of this situation. In Zafarabad here, we were stoned by associations of both people in which several people were injured. Police later charged the lathi with stopping violence.

Several people were gathered near the Mojpur Tea Road here, led by BJP leader Kapil Mishra. When the Kabirnagar metro station in Mohajpur, there was heavy friction between the CAA supporters and the protesters and they were stoned. However, an immediate police call was made which dispersed the mob.

First, the road connecting the Silampur and Mojpur-Yamuna Vihar blocks was blocked to protest the CAA, NRC. The women here sat on the road and shouted the slogan of independence with a tricolor in their hands and would not move from here till the government returns to the CAA, NRC, NPR. Following which the gates of the metro station in the area were closed by the authorities.

Later, CAA supporters also came to the Kabirnagar area, so the stones were stoned. Tear gas shells were released by police to disperse the mob. Some people have been injured in the past. Police in the area have recently imposed curfew and are also marching to control the situation.

Alok Kumar, a local police officer, said that the police had also been stoned. Currently flagmarches are being removed and efforts are underway to take appropriate action against the attackers based on CCTV cameras. Tear gas shells had to be released to disperse the crowd as well as a lathi charge. Police have claimed that Srithi is currently in control.
