Saudi Arabia again shocks Pakistan

New Delhi: February 7, 2020, Friday

Saudi Arabia has given another blow to Pakistan, dismissing Pakistan's demand for an immediate meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (IOC) to discuss the Kashmir situation.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has been constantly calling on the world to support Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir issue since India canceled the 370th Article giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir last year. With Malaysia backed by Malaysia, India had stopped importing palm oil imported from Malaysia and shocked Malaysia's economy.

In fact, Saudi Arabia was planning to convene a meeting of the foreign ministers of the IOC in December 2019. It was then that there was an impression that Saudi Arabia was doing so to persuade Pakistan. The reason for this was that Pakistan had moved against the organization of 57 countries of the OIC to establish a new organization of Islamic countries.

Pakistan also wanted to participate in the meeting in December in Malaysia, but Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates did not allow that. Both these countries have been continuously supporting Pakistan like a bankrupt on the economic front. Under his pressure, Pakistan could not attend the Malaysian meeting.

Now, according to a Pakistani media report, Pakistan is trying to hold such a meeting on its own in the current month.

After the United Nations, the OIC is the largest international organization headquartered in Jeddah. The OIC agrees with some countries demanding that Pakistan discuss Kashmir, but that would not be possible without the cooperation of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
