Rajasthan Transport Department exposes monthly bribe racket: 1.20 crore cash seized

The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has uncovered a bribe racket operating in the state transport department, authorities said today. According to the ACB, around Rs 5.5 crore has been seized from private agents.

According to the authorities, on Saturday night, ACBIA had taken a quick check of Transport Inspector Udayavir Singh taking a bribe of Rs. 5 from a private agent. Seven other officers and six private agents have also been detained.

Four months ago, a complaint was made to the ACB by the owners of the transport company that the district transport authorities were charging monthly bribes from private agents for threatening to cancel their registration.

According to Additional Director General (ADZ) ACB Dinesh MN, three teams were formed to investigate the case. He raided 3 chains in Jaipur. There were three raids outside Jaipur and one at Rewari in Haryana.
