One year after the Pulwama attack, the NIA failed to file a charge sheet

One year after the Pulwama attack, terrorists targeted a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, Kashmir, killing more than 40 people. After the incident, the entire matter was handed over to the NIA. However, the chargesheet has not yet been filed despite the attack being over a year old.

An FIR was filed by the NIA on February 20, 2019. However, no chargesheet has been filed yet. This has led to many questions on the investigation. The agency says an investigation is still underway on the matter.

In the usual cases, the NIA filed a charge sheet within 90 days, but the charge sheet could not be filed in this case even after 365 days. Also, there are reports that in some special cases the NIA may take longer. According to the NIA FIR, on February 14, 2019, Jaish-e-Mohammad was attacked in Pulwama.

In which the CRPF fleet was targeted. 40 jawans were martyred in the attack. The investigation, however, was handed over to the NIA. An NIA official said, "For us, this case was blind, there are many discussions but we need to clear every doubt before the court."

So far, investigations have revealed that the attacker on the CRPF convoy was named terrorist Adil Ahmed Dar, however, when his body shredded when the explosion took place, DNA was investigated on the basis of his body mass and DNA along with his parents' DNA. He was identified by investigation. Apart from this, no specific evidence has yet been conducted so the investigation is underway.
