It's easier to get a gun license than to open a restaurant in India!

The Economic Survey 2019-20 was introduced one day before the budget. An economic survey reveals that it is easier to get a gun license in India than to get a restaurant license. Even though the government is claiming that the licensing regime has expired and the business has become easier, the reality is quite different.

If you have to open a restaurant in any part of the country, more documents are required than you can ask for a gun license. This is stated in the Economic Survey released by the Finance Ministry.

According to the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), opening a restaurant in Bengaluru requires 36 approvals, 26 for Delhi and 22 for Mumbai.

In addition, a Police Eating House license is required to start a restaurant in Delhi and Kolkata. To obtain this license from Delhi Police, 45 documents are required. On the other hand, obtaining a license for a gun and other large arms requires 19 and 12 documents, respectively.

The survey reveals that opening a restaurant in India requires the highest approval from any other country in the world. Only four sanctions are required in China and Singapore.

According to the survey, in the last 13 years, vegetarian dishes have become 29% and vegetarian dishes 18% cheaper. On average, the average family of five people who eat two dishes a day will get about Rs 10,887 per year and the family who consumes meat will earn an average of Rs 11,787 per year.
