Impeachment of three presidents in three centuries of American history

Washington, Ta. January 6, 2020, Thursday

The US president emerged with only four votes in the impeachment resolution presented to him. He was accused of abusing power and trying to stop the Senate action.

Who brought the impeachment proposal

On December 18, the lower House of Representatives proposed an impeachment against Trump. In which Trump got 52-48 on charges of abusing power and obstructing Congress work 53-47. The Senate has a majority of Republicans (Trump's party).

Impeachment of 3 Presidents in Three Centuries

Three times in America's 243-year history, a president was impeached. The impeachment proceedings were dealt with in the 19th century by Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton in the 20th Century, and Trump in the 21st Century. However, both former presidents before Trump had impeachment in his second term, while Trump has been impeached in his earlier term.

Why the impeachment was imposed on all three presidents

- An impeachment motion was passed in the House of Representatives on charges of crime and misconduct against Johnson, the president of the Democratic Party, on the 17th. Johnson was voted in the Senate in the Senate and avoided running for president. Similarly, in 42nd President Bill Clinton faced impeachment in a case of false witnessing and obstruction of justice.

- In 1974, President Nixon was accused of spying on one of his opponents. But he had resigned just before the Great Depression. Because he knew that the case would go to the Senate, he would have to resign.

- Donald Trump has been accused of abusing his authority and obstructing the work of Congress (American Parliament). Trump has been accused of pushing Ukrainian President Vladimir Jelensky to investigate corruption against Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden and his son in 2020.

Biden's son is an officer in an energy company in Ukraine. It was also alleged that Trump withheld financial aid to Ukraine for his political gain.
