Gold likely to be worth Rs 12 lakh crore, uranium likely to be taken down

Sonbhadra, Ta-21 February 2020, Friday

The area has come into discussion overnight after the Geological Survey of India endorsed gold held under the hills of UP's Sonanchal area.

The GSI has said that there is more than 3000 tonnes of gold in the submarine. In terms of price, the price of this gold is estimated to be around Rs 2 lakh crore. Not only gold, iron and other minerals are also likely to be in large quantities under these hills.

Gold was first discovered in Sonbhadra in 1980. It was followed by another attempt ten years later. In the meantime, it has been marking potential places where Sonu may be. The third and fourth attempts were made between 2005 and 2012.

The Sonanchal Mountains extend to UP, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. Institutions other than the Geological Service of India in these Tama areas have also joined the survey. Helicopters, spectrometers and magnetic devices are being sought for mineral exploration.

The helicopters are being surveyed by hanging them up. So far, 2943 tonnes below the hills in Sonchal UP and 646 tonnes in Hardi block are considered to be gold.

Now, uranium deposits are forbidden under these hills. Apart from this, a million tonnes of silaminite minerals, and ten million tonnes of potash, are also estimated to be concentrated here.
