Decision of Delhi today: Arbitrary settlement in capital before vote counting

(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. February 10, 2020, Monday

A tight police arrangement was set up in the national capital for the elections to the Delhi Legislative Assembly on February 8. The eagerness of the people to know the outcome of the 70-member assembly was so intense that all the exit polls showed a clear majority for the Aam Aadmi Party.

The Election Commission also delayed in announcing the final percentage of the vote. The day before the Delhi assembly election result, Delhi Chief Minister and thus Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal had ordered his supporters not to crack fireworks in celebration of victory.

Party sources said that although we had started preparations for the victory celebration, our leader Kejriwal had ordered not to fire crackers that harm the environment. If any party does not get a clear majority in this direction, then there was a disagreement in the Congress about the alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party.

A group led by Delhi-in-charge PC Chaco believes that the coalition should be formed, while Subhash Chopra, the president of the state Congress, believes that we should not be involved in the government.

During the same battle between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP, the ruling party used non-parliamentary language several times and provocative speeches were also given. A total of 672 candidates, including 79 women, are trying their luck in the Assembly polls.

Due to this, the Aam Aadmi Party expressed skepticism. Authorities in Delhi were organizing tight police arrangements at polling booths. Voting will be counted at 21 places in 11 districts of the capital city. 33 supervisors will keep an eye on the count. The presiding officer also counted the number of votes cast in 13780 polling booths.
