Child rapist Brajesh Thakur imprisoned at Shelter Home

Brajesh Thakur, convicted of Muzaffarpur Shelter Home, has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Brajesh was convicted under a number of laws, including Poxo. At a shelter home in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, Brajesh Thakur exploited and even exploited physical relationships with many women.

Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Kulshrestha has also sentenced 11 other criminals to life imprisonment in the same case. While Brajesh Thakur has been sentenced to remain in jail till he lives. On January 20, the sessions court in Delhi acquitted Brajesh and others under section six of the Poxo law and sections including IPC rap, gangreap.

In the 1546-page judgment, the court granted Brajesh a section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, 324 (the purpose of harassing or possessing a weapon), section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act (extortionally cruelty to a child), and the various sections of Pocavi's sentence. In addition, 11 others besides Brajesh were also involved in the scandal. Counsel Dharraj Kumar, who is arguing in court on behalf of some criminals, said, "We will challenge this judgment of the lower court in the High Court."

Former Bihar social welfare minister and JD (U) leader Manju Verma was also charged in the case, so he had to resign from the government. The whole matter came out when the Tata Institute of Social Sciences submitted a report to the Bihar government following a visit to the shelter home.

The Shelter Home was run by Brijesh Thakur and other criminals who physically abused the poor children kept, raped and not provided enough food. The matter came out after the girls released all the information.
