Bangladesh student ordered to leave India within 15 days for anti-government activity

Kolkata, Ta. February 28, 2020, Friday

The home ministry has ordered a 20-year-old Bangladeshi student studying at Kolkata's Vishwa Bharati University to leave the country for alleged anti-Indian activity.

Afsara Anuk Meem, a graduate of Kendriya Vidyalaya, sent the 'Leave India Notice' on February 14 by the Foreign Registration Office of the Government of India, Kolkata. "I received this notice on Wednesday," the official said.

She went to the Foreign Field Registration Office on Thursday after receiving notice from the officer. Her friends said she was in shock and was afraid to talk to anyone. Afsar Mim posted some photos of the anti-CAA demonstration in December in a Facebook account. He was highly trolled for this post and was described as a 'Bangladeshi terrorist' by some alleged patriots.

The notice issued to the officer by the Foreign Office of the Regional Registration Office was ordered to leave India within fifteen days. The notice stated that "you were found to be involved in anti-government activities. Such activity is against the visa rules".

However, the notice given to the officer did not mention any of his Facebook accounts. It is worth mentioning that earlier, a German student was also expelled from India for allegedly participating in anti-CAA propaganda.

Communist Party leader Mohamed Salim said that there is no mention in the visa rules that a student should not be involved in any political activity.
