At Delhi airport, Rs. Three foreigners caught with 60 million heroin

Narcotic Control Bureau has arrested three foreigners with Rs 60 crore worth of heroin. Two women from Mozambique were arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport here with ten kilos of heroin, officials said.

Based on information provided by the captured women, a male from Ivory Coast in Greater Noida was arrested under NDPS, said KPS Malhotra, director of the NCB's Delhi Zone.

"New routes to smuggle heroin into India from Afghanistan through South Africa and Mozambique are now being used," he said, adding that 14.5 kg of heroin worth Rs 60 crore was seized.

Reverse trafficking for new heroin originating in Afghanistan or through smuggling routes through Mozambique country, which is commonly used by Western countries or smuggling routes into India.

Both women said they had taken the goods from Maputo, Mozambique's capital, and had to deliver it to a receiver residing in Sector 10 of Greater Noida upon reaching India. A Ivory Coast man was arrested after being raided in Greater Noida. Besides, four kilograms of heroin was also seized from his residence, the NCB director said.
