12 killed, 5 injured in collision with SUV car and dumper truck in Jalgaon

At least 12 people were killed and another five were injured when a dumper truck collided with an SUV car in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district.

The accident took place at 11am on Sunday night, according to information provided by a police officer on Monday. About 400 km from Mumbai Balu Narayan Chaudhary and his family were injured in the accident while returning to Chinchol village, attending a wedding ceremony in Chopra village.

A dumper truck coming from the front on Chopda-Faizpur road near Hingola village of Yawal Tehsil was hit by a chauvinist's SUV. An officer at the Faizpur police station said that Chaudhary, his wife and another eight persons traveling in the SUV died at the spot.

The other two died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The other five injured SUVs were rushed to different hospitals in Jalgaon.

Police arrested Mukund Bhangal, the driver of the dumper, and registered a crime under section 304-A (negligent death of someone) and 279 (reckless driving) against the IPC. The victims of the accident were Muktai Chinchol of Tehsil and resident of Mehul village.

Besides Balu Chowdhury, the other 10 people who lost their lives in serious accidents are Mangala Chowdhury, Ashlesha Chowdhury, Ria Chowdhury, Sonali Chowdhury, Priyanka Chowdhury, Sonali Mahajan, Sumanbai Patil, Sangeeta Patil, Shivam Chowdhury and Suwani Dhaulai Dhuni. The identity of the deceased is yet to be known.
