US-Canada falsely accused, we did not destroy Ukraine plane: Iran

Tehran / Ottawa, Ta. January 10, 2020, Friday

The United States and Britain blamed Iran's missile for Ukraine's plane crash in Iran. Then Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau also said that Iran's missile was responsible for the plane crash in Ukraine. Iran, however, denied the allegations again. Earlier, Iran had rejected the allegations and demanded evidence.

Iran's Aviation Minister Ali Abedzadeh clarified in a statement that the United States is falsely accusing Iran of destroying Ukraine's aircraft. Our missile did not target Ukraine's aircraft. The reports, citing Britain-Canada intelligence reports, are baseless.

The viral video was quoted as saying that the broken plane collided with the missile. In response, the Iranian minister said that we had studied the video. The aircraft caught fire in 60 to 70 seconds and the reason is unclear. But the missile did not collide with it. Such accusation is not appropriate unless there is definite evidence. Iran called for evidence from the US-Britain and Canada.

The United States was the first to blame Iran for Ukraine's plane crash. The United States has said that a missile from Iran fired a Ukrainian plane. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was later quoted as saying that an Iranian missile had caused Ukraine's plane to crash. The Prime Minister said that Canadians have a right to know because it has 63 Canadian citizens.

Britain's prime minister also claimed Boris Johnson had been fired because the Ukraine plane had accidentally hit a missile. Ukraine's plane crashed near Tehran's airport. 176 people were killed in the accident. They included 63 Canadian citizens, 83 from Iran, 11 from Ukraine, 10 from Sweden, 3-3 from Germany-Britain.
