Two Indian-origin women lawyers appointed as judges in New York court


New York, Ta. January 7, 2020, Tuesday

Two women lawyers from India originally have been appointed as a judge in a New York City court. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio made the appointment. Both women have been appointed judges of the criminal court and the civil court.

Of these, the lawmaker named Archanarao has been made a criminal court while Deepa Ambekar has been made a judge in the civil court. Rao was earlier appointed interim judge of the Diwali court in January 2019. Archie Rao has been in the New York County District Attorney's Office for 17 years.

Another lawmaker Deepa Ambekar was appointed as interim judge in the Diwali court in May 2018. Mayor de Blasio has made 28 judicial appointments in the Family Court, the criminal court and the civil court. Which has been in effect since 1st January.

Judge Archana Rao has also served as head of the Financial Frauds Bureau of America. Rao, a graduate of Vassar College, holds a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law. Deepa Ambaker has previously been a senior law counsel and public safety committee lawyer at New York City Council.

He was also a staff lawyer on the Legal Aid Committee of the United States and the Criminal Defense Department. Deepa is a graduate of Ambaker University of Michigan. And Juris is a doctor from Rutgers Law School.

Meyer said after the appointment that the above-mentioned professionals proudly represent New York. These people will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the judicial affairs are devoid of horizons. The service of this community is essential to ensure that we are building a beautiful society for everyone.
