Turkey earthquake kills 18, injures more than 550

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit eastern Turkey on Friday, killing at least 18 and injuring more than 550.

The country's Home Minister Suleiman Soyulu confirmed the news and said that after the first major setback, there were 35 other minor shocks and there was a great deal of casualties.

Crisis was prevalent in the country. Various social organizations were flooded with people and provided blankets of food and clothes to the affected people. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, at 5-5pm on Friday evening, the epicenter was located 158 km north of Gaziantep, 218 km from the city of Gaziantep.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said relief was being provided to the affected areas. Our efforts to help everyone enough were underway.
