The state government has begun to take stringent action against the women of Uttar Pradesh who are protesting against the new Citizenship Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens.
A breach of Article 144 was registered against at least 1200 women. These women were protesting in Lucknow like Shaheen Bagh in New Delhi.
Regarding the regional statistics, legal cases were registered against 60 women in Aligarh, 300 in Prayagraj and 200 women and 700 men in Etawah.
There were protests at Ghhatghar in Lucknow, the town hall in Rae Bareli and Mansur Ali Park in Prayag Raj.
Meanwhile, a complaint was lodged against Hazrat Rizvi, the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board, who made critical remarks about the women who were watching in the Ghatghar area.
