The capital New Delhi and its adjoining areas were treated in the next 24 hours with heavy rains and cooling down after heavy rains.
Thus, Delhi and NCR received heavy rains since late evening on Monday. As a result, the temperature was lowered. The Meteorological Department also forecast rain in the next 24 hours.
Apart from Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh may also receive rains. Temperatures could be cooler in all these areas as the mercury drops, the weather department said.
On Monday, some mountainous areas received heavy snowfall. The weather department further said that there would be a cloudy day for two days and the sun would be less cloudy. A Delhi government official has claimed that the system was rigged in view of the impending assembly elections.
