Nirbhaya case: Death sentence to be executed on January 22

Delhi's Patiala House Court on Tuesday issued death warrants for all four convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape case. All four will be hanged on January 22 at 7pm. Earlier, the video conferenced with the four convicts through video conferencing. In the meantime the media were not even allowed in.

Earlier, the hearing of the Nirbhaya case was completed in Patiala House Court in Delhi. The court reserved its decision. The guilty plea was rejected by the Supreme Court in July 2018 and they had two and a half years to file a curative petition but did not file a petition. Now Patiala House Court will decide its verdict in a few minutes.

The court will decide the guilty verdict in a few minutes. The Patiala House Court Judge will talk to the four convicts through video conferencing. All the convicts Akshay, Mukesh, Vinay and Pawan have already been sentenced to death in the case of Nirbhaya.

It is worth mentioning that, on the night of December 16-17, 2012, a 23-year-old paramedical student boarded a private bus with her friends and gang-raped six people. Both were later thrown off the roadside in Mahipalpur. The victim died on December 29, 2012.
