At least 48 people have been killed and more than 200 injured in clashes between two tribal groups in Sudan's struggling Darfur.

More than 48 people have been killed in clashes between Arab and African tribes in El Janina, the capital of western Darfur province, Red Crescent reported. The armed clashes between the two groups began on Sunday night, which lasted until Monday.

According to reports, a group feud took place after a dispute between two people and many tents were burned and people had to resort to other destinations without food and clothing. At least 48 people have been killed in the raid and their bodies have been sent to a mortuary.

In addition, 241 people were injured in the group strike and 19 of them were in critical condition so all were taken to Khartoum for proper treatment. The Khartoum government imposed a curfew in western Darfur on Monday after the strike and sent a team to the incident site for investigation.

At the same time, troops were deployed to maintain law and order in the area. In January 2016, six people were killed in western Darfur amid fierce clashes between members of the Massalit tribe and the Halba tribe of the Arabian Bay.
