Iran again releases two rockets near the US Embassy

Baghdad Ta. 9 January 2020, Thursday

Reports have surfaced that Iran was attacked by two rockets near the US Embassy in Baghdad this morning.

Earlier, Iran had also launched a rocket attack in January. At that time some rockets also fell inside the US Embassy. However, rockets of both attacks dropped 100 meters from the embassy in the new attack.

An Iraqi military spokesman confirmed the news of an Iranian rocket attack. The spokesman said Iran had attacked the green zone. This is an area where many countries around the world have embassies.

In the January 5 attacks on Iran, two rockets landed at the US Embassy, killing several people. However, the US State Department claimed no one was killed. Iran has been furious with the United States since it killed Qassim Suleiman, the top military officer in airstrikes at Baghdad airport.

Some political scholars firmly believe that the outbreak of the Third World War could befall the top leaders of these two countries.
