Rajkot, Ta. January 17, 2020, Friday

With Dhawan's 96 and Rahul's 52-ball 80 and Kohli's 78, Jadeja-Kuldeep and Shami's impressive bowling performance helped India win by 36 runs in the second ODI against Australia at Rajkot. India, meanwhile, were tied 1-1 in three ODIs.

Team India scored a 340-run six for the first time. In reply, the touring Australian team was all out for 304 in 49.1 overs as India won by 36 runs. Now the third and final one-day date of the series will be played in Bengaluru on 19th January.

The half-centuries of Dhawan, Rahul and Kohli, along with the match played at Rajkot's Khandheri Stadium, played an important role in the magical spin bowling of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. Shami made a crucial three-wicket haul.

Australia, under pressure from Steve Smith, kept the team India under pressure, scoring 98 runs. However, Kuldeep did not dismiss Smith after Kariya in one over, and Indian fans cheered loudly at the stadium filled with spectators.

With this win, Team India ended the series with four consecutive ODI defeats against Australia at home. Now in Bengaluru, India will land with the intention of repaying the one-day series against Australia at home last year.

Australia earlier won the toss and put India in bat. The duo of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan laid the foundation for a huge score, giving India a slow but steady start. Rohit-Dhawan added 81 runs against Australia's fast bowlers. The duo combined for 81 runs off 81 balls.

Spinner Zampa made the first success for Australia and Rohit was dismissed leg-before. He struck out 42 with six fours off 44 balls. Skipper Kohli, along with Dhawan, gave the innings stability. Dhawan and Kohli shared a 103-run stand, leading the team to 184.

Richardson deprived Dhawan for a mere four runs and was caught by Stark at the hands of 96. Dhawan faced 90 balls and struck out 13 fours and a six. India lost two crucial wickets in the span of just 14 runs when Richardson bowled Dhawan and Zampa dismissed Iyer (7).

Captain Kohli and Rahul combined for a solid 78 in the middle order. Kohli struck out 78 with 6 fours in 76 balls and he was again bowled out for Zampa. His catch was struck by Stark. Pandey Bay became Richardson's second victim.

Rahul continued his form, hitting 80 off 52 balls with 6 fours and three sixes. He and Jadeja added 58 for just 33 balls to bring the score to 340. Rahul was run out in the last over by wicketkeeper Karey.

India then reached 340 for six in 50 overs. Zampa had three important wickets for 50 runs. Richardson took two wickets for 73 runs. Stark was expensive and despite giving 78 runs in 10 overs, not a single wicket was fast.

India's first victory on this ground of Rajkot

India won the second one-day series against Australia by 36 runs. With this, Team India recorded the first ODI record at Rajkot's Khandheri Stadium. India were defeated in both the ODIs played on this ground. India played a one-dayer against England on January 11, 2013 at Rajkot's Khandheri Stadium and England won by 9 runs.

After that, India and South Africa played one-day matches here on October 18, 2018, in which tourist South Africa won by 18 runs. However, with today's win, India had opened a winning account on the field of Rajkot. Coincidentally, the first batting team was the winner in all three ODIs played in Rajkot.
