Gonda (Uttar Pradesh) Date: January 23, Thursday

At present, there is tension around the issue of new citizenship laws and registration of citizens, there is a madrasa in the Wazirganj area of Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh where Muslim children speak Sanskrit verse and Hindu children come to learn Urdu.

It may be said that this madrasa of Wazirganj has established a new tradition. Muslim children learn Sanskrit verses in Madrasa-e-Baghdad in Rasulpur, Vikaspur, and a large number of Hindu children study Urdu.

In addition, the madrassas also teach subjects like Persian, Hindi, English, mathematics and science. Generally, the impression that Madrasa falls into with the word "Urdu Arabic" and the study of Islam is made in the folklore. But here the madrasa gives a different impression and the Hindu Muslim remains the living proof of communal brotherhood.

There are a total of 230 children studying in which over 30 children belong to Hindu families. Abdul Rashid, principal of Madrassa (called Nazim in Urdu), said that our aim is to provide good education to the children of every community.

Every child and their parent decides what to teach. Many Hindu children learn Urdu along with Sanskrit, as many Muslim children learn Sanskrit along with Urdu. We do not discriminate against anyone.
