His review petition was rejected in July 2018. The curative petition was rejected by the Supreme Court in January 2020. However, it has the option of applying for mercy.

Under the jail law, after the mercy petition has been rejected, the convict is given 14 days before execution. If more than one convict is sentenced to death in one case, all are executed simultaneously.
