The 48-year-old Nirav Modi, accused of a $ 2 billion PNB scam and money laundering case, was presented to a video conference in Westminster court in London. The court has extended Nirav Modi's judicial custody till January 30. The court ordered Nirav Modi to appear in the court on January 3.
Modi was presented today with a video conferencing in London's Westminster Magistrates Court for a regular hearing every 28 days. Nirav Modi, 48, filed another bail plea in November. However, Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot rejected the bail plea of Nirav Modi.
Britain's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is fighting a case against Modi in London on behalf of the Indian government. An extradition hearing against Nirav Modi will begin in May 2020. Nirav Modi was arrested in London on March 19 and has since been locked up in Wandsworth Prison, England's most expensive.
