BJP is often harassing Hardik Patel: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has targeted the BJP government over the arrest of Congress leader Hardik Patel. Priyanka Gandhi said that the BJP government has been harassing Hardik Patel, who fought for the employment of the youth and the rights of peasants.

Hardik raised the voice of the people of his society, demanded jobs for them, demanded reservation, agitated for farmers. The BJP is calling it treason.

Hardik Patel was arrested from Hassalpur near Viramgam on Saturday. Hardik Patel has been arrested under treason case. The court issued a non-bailable warrant against Hardik Patel and asked him to appear on January 24. He was arrested earlier, however.

Ahmedabad court on Saturday issued a non-bailable warrant in a case of sedition filed against the Patidar reserve supporter rally against Hardik Patel.

What's the whole case?

On August 25, 2015, there was vandalism and violence across the state following the Patidar Reserve supporter rally at the GMDC ground in Ahmedabad. The crime branch subsequently registered a case in October of that year. In his charge sheet, police accused Hardik and some of his associates of spreading violence and conspiring against the elected government.
