Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has only Rs 38,000

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his cabinet colleagues declared their fortune as part of keeping their promise of a transparent administrative system.

The most striking detail is that of Nitish Kumar himself. He declared that his three bank accounts together amounted to Rs 39,000 in cash. There is an EcoSport car that is estimated to be worth around one hundred lakh rupees. There are two gold rings and one pearl-colored silver ring valued at around Rs 65,000. There are ten milch cows and seven calves, valued at about one and a half lakh rupees.

In addition, Nitish Kumar has an exercise cycle to work out on a daily basis. Besides, there are air conditioners in the house, computer, air cooler, micro oven, washing machine. The total value of all these items does not exceed Rs 5 lakh.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister has an investment and savings of around Rs 2.5 lakhs in the share-debentures of Rs 2.5 lakh and National Savings Certificates as well as around Rs 21 lakh in the post office savings account.

He presented it to the media, with a notified affidavit that he had nothing more to do.
