AMU to investigate National Human Rights Commission of Violence, Allahabad High Court orders

New Delhi, Jan 7, 2020, Tuesday

The National Human Rights Commission will investigate the violence at the AMU during the December 15th demonstrations against the new citizenship law last December.

The National Human Rights Commission will conduct the investigation following the order given by the Allahabad High Court.

The Allahabad High Court told the Commission that it should prepare the report within a maximum of five weeks and give it to us. The next hearing will be on February 17, the court further said.

Police alleged that the so-called people involved in the AMU violence had called on minority youths to join in the violence after the Zuma prayers. On the other hand, the minority people turned to the police and said that the police had told us to go to Pakistan and stabbed innocent people in our houses. The matter is now being investigated by the National Human Rights Commission.
