Whatever opposition to citizenship law issue, the government will not bow down: Amit Shah

(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. December 17, 2019, Tuesday

While protests are going on all over the country against the citizenship reform law, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made it clear that the government will not bow to any opposition to the citizenship reform law.

Our government will provide citizenship requirements to the minority refugees coming from three neighboring countries. The Modi government and the BJP are firm on this issue. During a program in Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that our government will provide citizenship requirement to minority refugees from neighboring countries.

Do whatever the political opposition wants to protest. Refugees from neighboring countries of India will get citizenship. He will become a citizen of India and live in the world with honor.

The Home Minister said that the opposition is misleading the countrymen. I say again that the citizenship of any person of any minority society is not going to be stripped. There is no such provision in the amended law.

Targeting the Congress, Amit Shah said that I wanted to tell the Congress that it was part of the Nehru-Liaquat agreement, but it did not apply for 70 years because you liked to create a vote bank. Our government has enforced the treaty and granted millions of citizenship.
