Violent sightings remain unchanged in West Bengal - five empty trains burned

Violent protests continued in several areas of West Bengal for the second consecutive day on the issue of citizenship reform law. Several buses and one railway station complex, public property were set on fire.

The protesters mostly targeted the railway property. On the other hand, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who opposed the citizenship law, urged people to keep the peace while the opposition BJP threatened to go to the center to impose presidential rule in the state if violence continued through Bangladeshi Muslim intruders.

Demonstrators burned some empty train bins at Krishnapur station in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. He also spread violence in Sujinapara and set fire to railway tracks in Harishchandrapur in neighboring Malda district.

In addition, a robbery ticket counter was burnt at the Sankral Railway station in Howrah district and the signal system was broken. Some trains were canceled.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday appealed to the people to keep the peace and urged the protesters to demonstrate democratically and not to damage government property. He warned against harsh acts against violent protesters.

On the other hand, violent protests continued in the northeastern states. Some people set fire to an oil tanker and killed the driver in Thaikijuli in Sonitpur district. Schools and offices were closed. Internet services were shut down for 48 hours throughout Assam. The ban is extended until December 16.

However, in the midst of all these circumstances, the curfew was delayed for several hours in Dibrugarh and Guwahati as well as in Shillong, Meghalaya, similar to the AP Center in Assam in Assam.

Assam general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi of Assam's student body said that the demonstrations would continue till 5.00 pm every night as the demonstrators were demonstrating on the path of non-violence by Mahatma Gandhi. Schools and markets were also closed in Nagaland. There were very few vehicles on the road. The Naga Student Association announced a shutdown for several hours from 6.00 am in protest against the law.

Trains run special trains for travelers traveling in the northeast

Due to violent protests in the eastern states, opposition to the citizenship law has lost trains in these areas. Due to this many tourists are trapped. To help them, the railway ran special trains from Guwahati on Saturday. In Guwahati, during the last two-three days, an estimated 2,000 to 2,400 tourists traveled, while 600 to 800 tourists were trapped in Guwahati.

US, UK and Canada advise their citizens not to move to North East India

Some countries, including the United States, England, Israel, Canada and Singapore, have advised their citizens not to travel to India in northeast India. Violent protests are taking place in these areas in opposition to citizenship laws. The American government has postponed all its official visits to Assam, the AP Center for Evacuation.

The UK government has also advised its citizens not to travel to the northeastern states of India by updating its travel advisory for India. Britain has advised its citizens not to go to Jammu and Kashmir. Canada, Israel, Singapore have also warned their citizens not to make unnecessary trips to the Northeast.
