Nirmala Sitharaman, Roshni Malhotra, Kiran Majumdar among the 100 most powerful women in the world

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is among the most powerful women in the world. Three women from India are included in the list of prestigious Forbes. Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel was at number one on the list of 100 most powerful women.

Renowned business magazine Forbes released its list of the 100 Most Powerful Women of the Year 2019. Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was ranked 34th. Apart from this, Roshan Malhotra, CEO and Director of HCL Corporation and Kiran Majumdar, the founder of Baikon. Roshni Malhotra is at 54th and Kiran Majumdar at 65th.

For nine consecutive years, Angela Merkel is at the top of the list. European Central Bank President Kristin Lagarde was second and American Parliament Speaker Nancy third. Also on the list were Melinda Bill Gates, New Zealand Prime Minister Jasinda, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka.

Environmental activist Greta Thunberg was ranked 100th in the list of the most powerful women in the world. Tennis player Serena Williams was 81st, Singer Reha was 61st.

The list included 23 women for the first time. It included Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as well as Greta Thomberg. Nirmala Sitaram was left behind by Ivanka Trump and Britain's Empress.
