(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. December 30, 2019, Monday

The Indian Navy has banned the use of naval personnel's Facebook following revelations of espionage and honey trap. In addition, the use of smartphones has been banned from naval facilities, dockyards and onboard warships.

The Indian Navy has banned the use of social media site Facebook by navies. No one can use Facebook after this command.

In addition, the use of smartphones has been banned at various naval facilities. Following the leak of information about seven Navy personnel, the Navy has decided to keep its employees away from the media. This ban on Facebook is also seen as a ban on Facebook-owned WhatsApp and Instagram.

The order was announced on December 27. The biggest concern for such a ban is civilian personnel and people working in the Navy's dockyard because they are not covered by naval rules.

Eight people, seven Navy personnel and one Mumbai operator were arrested from Visakhapatnam on December 20 and a decision has been taken in this regard.
