New Delhi, December 19, 2019, Thursday
The BJP has released a video of Congress leader and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as political parties, including Congress, have come out to protest against the Citizenship Research Bill.
In which Manmohan Singh appeals to the government to think sympathetically for refugees who have been victims of violence on religious grounds in Bangladesh.
This video is from 2003. At that time there was a Vajpayee government at the center and Congress was in opposition. At that time, Manmohan Singh was the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha. Addressing the then Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani in Rajya Sabha, Manmohan Singh said, I want to bring the refugees crisis to you. After partition, citizens have been persecuted on religious grounds in our neighboring country Bangladesh. It is our duty to provide refuge for these victims if they come to our country for refuge.

Manmohan Singh said at the time that our behavior should be liberal to these people. I want to take your attention to the law of citizenship research very seriously.
BJP has shared this video on social media. The political turmoil on this issue has been decided. Because Congress is now opposed to granting citizenship to minority citizens of neighboring countries on religious grounds in the bill.
In 2003, speaking in Rajya Sabha, Dr Manmohan Singh, then Leader of Opposition, asked for a liberal approach to granting citizenship to minorities, who are facing persecution, in neighboring countries such as Bangladesh and Pakistan. The Citizenship Amendment Act does just that ... pic.twitter.com/7BOJJMdkKa
