International Drug Trafficking Network Exposed: Rs. 1,300 crore drug seizure seized

The Narcotics Department formed a special team a few months ago to speed up drug mafia, and as a result an international network of drug trafficking has been exposed. Nine accused have been arrested along with drugs worth around Rs 1,300 crore.

The team, which was formed under the leadership of IPS officer Rakesh Asharthana, also included Delhi Police officials and a Rs 1,300 crore drug scam has been uncovered under special action.

Nine people have been arrested in connection with the drug trade. The special team confiscated a record 20 kg of cocaine in the country on December 13.

Apart from Delhi, the capital of India, 20 kg of cocaine worth Rs 100 crore was seized in the international market by exposing a network spread across Punjab, Uttarakhand and Maharashtra.

The entire network was internationally affiliated with countries such as Australia, Canada, America, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Colombia, Malaysia and Nigeria. In addition, 55 kg of cocaine and 200 kg of methamphetamine worth Rs 1,200 crore were seized from Australia.

Additionally five Indian, one American, one Indonesian and two Nigerian accused belonging to the entire network have been arrested. During the investigation, it was revealed that the network was using India as a destination destination for drugs and for delivering goods to other destinations.
